judy phillips: team mentor, longtime team captain, and cancer survivor.
one of those people, who when you're having a bad day, realize that she keeps life in perspective. and i want to be more like her.
and yes, those flamingoes are part of a team theme. for the month before relay, each day they "flock" someone's yard with dozens of pink flamingoes. you have to donate to the american cancer society for them to flock the person of your choice. and they pay to have the flock removed. and they may a ton of money in the process.
i suppose it gives new meaning to the term, "i got flocked!" :)
