Haystack Rock

At the end of summer, there's nothing better than welcoming fall with a weekend in Cannon Beach, Oregon. You have the sand, the salt, the clouds (and sun, if you're REALLY REALLY lucky) and some cozy days and nights away from the normal nuttiness of life. My list of top places include The Stephanie Inn (pre-Viper days), Hallmark Inn (post-Viper), Hug Point, and of course, Haystack Rock.

Random factoid...did you know that the 235-foot-tall chunk is one of the world's largest free-standing monoliths, and its top is a protected wildlife refuge? I didn't think you did. Now you know. :)
